Each caregiver must have 12 months of full time paid employment, which also includes 6 months of continuous employment with one employer in a field of occupation related to the job they are seeking to find as a caregiver.
At Family Match, we require our caregivers to have a minimum of 24 months of paid experience, which is double the standard set by Service Canada.

Family
Match has a very intensive screening
process for all applicants. Each caregiver
must obtain a police clearance from every
foreign country that they have worked in,
receive a medical clearance, and go through
an in depth interview with the Canadian Embassy.
In addition to all that, Familymatch conducts
a thorough background check on all applicants
and each one is individually screened and
interviewed by our consultants to ensure that
they meet the Family Match
standards. |

It can take anywhere between 2 to 6 months for your selected caregiver to arrive depending on what country your caregiver is coming from. Caregivers from Hong Kong will take 3-4 months to process all their papers and obtain a work permit. However, caregivers from Taiwan take as little as 2 months to receive their work permits. This is due to the varying amount of backlog in the different Canadian Embassies |
